From Newfoundland to British Columbia, there will be public screenings of the National Film Board documentary The Ties That Bind, coupled with the film are workshops that offer inspiration and the practical tools needed to plan for the future. From will and estate planning to creating enduring social networks, this is a chance to hear personal stories, engage in lively dialogue, and learn steps you can take today. Workshop facilitators include Vickie Cammack, Executive Director of PLAN Institute and recipient of a Meritorious Service Medal from the Governor General.
What is Plan Institute? I looked up their mission on their website. It says,
It is our mission to reduce the isolation and loneliness of people with disabilities and ensure that the gifts and contributions of all members of a community are encouraged and welcomed.
Through policy reform, leadership development, social entrepreneurship, social network facilitation and dialogue, our work is focused on connecting people, ideas and action.
