The British Columbia Legislative Assembly did not pass the Wills, Estates and Succession Act in this last session. It was introduced, but did not proceed to third reading.
I hope that the Act, or a similar one, will be reintroduced next session. This kind of legislation might not win or lose elections for politicians. But reform in areas that need reform is what governing should be about. I am disappointed that the legislation was not given higher priority. I am concerned that with an election coming up, and then the Olympics, it may be a while before we see it.
