British Columbia Government Intends to End Mandatory Retirement at 65
British Columbia Attorney General Wally Oppal is introducing legislation in the Legislative Assembly to end mandatory retirement at 65 in B.C. The Provincial Government intends to implement the Premier's Council on Aging and Seniors’ Issues recommendation to amend the Human Rights Code to to extend the prohibition against discrimination in employment based on age to those aged 65 and over.
